Eye Hospital (SGLEH), an institutional partner of the Sankara Eye Foundation, USA, will undergo a major expansion of its existing hospital in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Situated in Kartoa, Jalpaiguri, this is an expansive facility spread over 2.18 acres of land, designed for high-volume surgery and high-quality patient care.

The proposed expansion will add two floors to the existing four-storey structure and 40,000 sq ft to the existing 100,000 sq ft area. Seven new Operating Theaters will be added to the existing two, the number of free surgery beds with triple from 100 to 300, and paid surgery beds will increase from 100 to 150.
Upon completion, this unit will increase its annual free surgery capacity from 15,000 to 40,000, while paid surgery capacity will increase from 3,000 to 10,000. The project will have a transformative impact on the lives of over 20 million people in West Bengal.
